Question
In AWS EC2, there are 4 pricing models: [...] [...] , Reserved Instance, Spot Instance, and Dedicated Host
Answer

On Demand

^^ On Demand is the one we use at work, where there is no upfront commitment and you just pay by the hour
^^^ Reserved Instance is you signup for 1 to 3 year contract for instance and you get reduced hourly rate
^^^^ Spot Instance is you bid for the extra unused EC2s that AWS has, but if your bid value is less than the going rate at any moment, AWS can terminate your instance on short notice (using it for EKS, kubernetes is good option)
^^^^^ Dedicated Host is you but a whole server that does not used shared virtualization, for cases where you have special licensing needs like Oracle installation or security needs (like government stuff)

Question
In AWS EC2, you use [...] [...] pricing model if you want to lower your hourly costs and are willing to make a 1 to 3 year commitment for the instance usage
Answer

Reserved Instance

^^ Reserved Instance has three variations: Standard, Converable (you can change the instance type), and Scheduled (you want to only use instance part of day/week/month)

Question
In AWS EC2, there are three variations of the Reserved Instance pricing model: Standard, [...], and Scheduled
Answer

Convertable

^^ for Convertable you can change the instance type, for example from t2.small to m5.large, but Standard you can't
^^^ Scheduled allows you to just buy the instance for 1 to 3 years to use in particular times of day/week/month
