Dx of IBS
● Manning criteria - 3 or more of:
○ Pain relief w/ bowel mvnt
○ More freq stools w/ onset of pain
○ Loose stools w/ onset of pain
○ Passage of mucous
○ Sensation of incomplete evacuation
○ Abdo distention
● AND no red flags or FH of organic bowel dz (CD, colon ca)
