analgesics drug: ASA
mechanism: inhibit cox, which prevents formation of thromboxane A2 & prostaglandins (these induce plt aggregation)
possible clinical scenarios:
-analgesia & anti-inflammatory
-has been shown to reduce risk of recurrent TIAs or stroke
-reduces risk of MI in pts
caution: GI ulceration, bleeding
