1st Stage of Normal Labour:
- cervix becomes fully effaced & dilated due to strong, frequent uterine contractions
- 2 phases
--- latent phase: 0-3 cm dilatation, variable time
--- active phase: 3-10 (or 6-10) cm dilatation
------ if from 3cm, 1.0+ cm/hr for primiparous and 1.2+ cm/hr for multiparous women
------ if from 6cm, 0.5-0.7 cm/hr for primi and 0.5-1.3 cm/hr for multi women
