Breton once said about Christianity, something I think we should affirm in relationship to materialism as well: “We consequently relinquish the image of a simple body that the dream of a new alchemy would disengage under the sign of critique at the end of its effort. Authentic Christianity [sic] is not behind us: it is in front of us.”
