Blood and fluid changes
• In the puerperium, there is leukocytosis, thrombocytosis, lymphopenia and eosinopenia.
• Cardiac volume elevated for the first 48 hrs.
• Elevation of plasma fibrinogen.
• ESR remains elevated.
