A neurotransmitter synthesized from tyrosine, dopamine serves as a precursor to nor- epinephrine (NE) and epinephrine (Epi; Figure 6-68). Dopamine is implicated in psychosis (increased levels), mania (increased levels), schizophrenia (increased levels), Huntington disease (increased levels), and Parkinson disease (decreased levels)
