15.4 Some remarks about buckling In true life a structure should not survive the application of the first global critical load. The reason for seeking more values is to detect some local buckling which could endanger the structure well before the first global one. An Eulerian buckling analysis in a structure holding beam elements is a rather simple assumption of its behavior 1 . At least too simple for most construction codes calling for more sophisticated check-up needing in turn an extensive use of Python: to extract the desired values and build up some results with the required formulas 2 . Code_Aster allows also to make non linear buckling analysis which comes particularly useful for space frames, this is described in the test case ssnl135.
