Corda allows for but does not mandate the use of determinstic key derivation schemes such as BIP 32 13 . The infrastructure does not assume any mathematical relationship between public keys because some cryptographic schemes are not compatible with such systems. Thus we take the efficiency hit of always linking transient public keys to longer term keys with X.509 certificates.
